Happy New Year!

And with it came the snow!

What a surprise! Everything looks open, bright and new, like the year.

Each year I choose a word to be a focal point, a point of view. Last year the word was Focus. It was a good choice for the times. It helped to keep my eye on the important things in my life. My mother would often say, “Everywhere you live there is something to love and something to hate. You choose what you focus on.” Many years later, those words have helped me negotiate the ups, downs, and unknowns of the Covid-19 year(s). It also helped me realize how much I have to be grateful for!

Which brings me tho the 2022 word–

Grateful

(Truthfully, I knew at Thanksgiving this would be the 2022 word) Big and little, I choose to focus on the endless opportunities to be grateful. Right now I’m grateful for a wise mother, fresh snow, a new year, and the delicious smells coming from the kitchen where my husband is cooking dinner. And of course for him.

Wishing you a 2022 filled with joy and gratitude!
