It’s a gray rainy day in Chicago. It reminded me of a gray foggy day in Newport this summer. As I painted I could hear the waves on the shore. In Chicago I can hear the traffic. Funny, without the horns, it’s a similar sound.

Looking at this sketch I’m wondering “A gray day?” What about the greens? The yellows? The blue?

Looking out the window in Chicago it’s the same. What about the browns? What about the sparkle of the car yellow and white headlights? The red, green, and yellow traffic lights? And what bout the polka dot of umbrella colors?

It’s all in what you notice. #remarqueoftheday
