It’s Beginning to Look A Lot Like Christmas!

A Few of My Favorite Things

The trees are up and decorated. We decorate two trees, one small one in the studio/office and a large one in the living room. They’re very different in mood.

The small tree is a little artsy, with icicles and baby’s breath for snow. The ornaments are Christmas angels.

The living room tree (my favorite) is filled with memories. There are two ornaments from Bob and my first Christmas together, Meredith and Andrew’s silver baby cups as well as the characters from the mobile that hung above their cribs. Of course there are handmade ornaments made by our kids and their kids. Mom Weeks made some. I made some. Momentos from our travels are fun to see there too. And of course there is the pickle! Who will be the first to spy it this year? (The search for the pickle ornament tends to spark interest and conversation about the other ornaments, too.)

Paper, Ribbon and Tags

Then there’s the happy mess in the studio! Bright-colorful paper, ribbon, and tags are all over the place. I’m almost finished with the wrapping! The scene here is a preview of the joyful chaos under the tree after Mass on Christmas Eve.

Reason for the Season

On Christmas Eve we’ll place the Baby Jesus in the manger. We’ll go to Mass and celebrate the greatest gift of all. Wishing you all a blessed Christmas and Joyful New Year!
