Warming Hearts and Hands

Want to warm a heart on a cold day?

The Chicago Help Initiative is an extraordinary organization founded by Jacqueline Hayes in 2020. With her leadership the organization has grown from providing food for the hungry to also providing help and access to social services for the homeless, underprivileged, and jobless in Chicago.

How Can You Help?

Make bagged meals for those in need. Feeding Hope is a bagged meal program sponsored by CHI. On Wednesday and Saturday CHI collects bagged meals containing a sandwich, a drink, a snack, and a piece of fruit and distributes them to the needy.

Each meal should contain:

  • a sandwich of any kind.

  • a piece of fruit (ex: grapes, clementines, a banana)

  • a snack ( ex: chips, crackers)

  • a drink (a bottle of water or juice)

  • a dessert is a nice addition too! (cookies or cupcake etc)

How many meals? 1, 5, 10, 20? as many as you’d like!

Where?

  • On Wednesdays between 9:30am and 10:30am CST First St. Pauls Lutheran Church, 1301 N. LaSalle (Goethe entrance)

  • On Saturdays between 9:30am and 10:30am CST Catholic Charities, 721 N LaSalle

Warm a heart (yours too!) on a cold day or any day! No sign-up is necessary. Pass on the information and help out as often as you can!

Thank You!
